Statement
Accessibility statement
Our WCAG 2.2 AA target for this website, how we test, known issues and how to ask for content in another format.
Scope
This statement applies to the website at youngfuturesdigital.co.uk, run by Young Futures Digital Limited. Products and services we build for partners carry their own accessibility statements.
Our target
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. That means, among other things, that you should be able to zoom to 400 percent without content overlapping or disappearing, navigate everything with a keyboard, use a screen reader, and read all text against its background with sufficient contrast.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML with one main heading per page, landmarks and a skip link.
- Text that resizes with browser settings. No text is set in images.
- Colour contrast checked against the AA thresholds for text, links and controls, including orange links on the warm background.
- Focus states that are visible on every link, button and control.
- Motion that respects the reduced-motion setting.
- A mobile menu that can be opened, navigated and closed with a keyboard, with its state announced.
- Descriptive alternative text for every photograph.
- Tables with headers and captions, and definition lists for structured content.
- No autoplaying media, no carousels, no time limits.
How we test
We test with automated tooling, keyboard-only navigation, screen readers on desktop and mobile, browser zoom to 400 percent and a range of viewport widths. Before each significant change we also ask people with access needs to try the pages that changed and we act on what they tell us. Testing is recorded with the date and the method.
Current status and known issues
We believe this website meets WCAG 2.2 AA. We have not yet had an external audit and we will update this statement when one is completed. Known issues: none recorded. If you find one, tell us and we will list it here with a fix date.
Other formats and feedback
If you need information from this website in a different format, such as large print, easy read or a plain text file, or if you find something that does not work for you, email hello@youngfuturesdigital.co.uk with the subject “Accessibility feedback”. We respond within three working days and aim to provide the format within ten.
Enforcement
The Equality and Human Rights Commission enforces the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. We are not a public sector body, but we hold ourselves to the same standard because our partners are. If you are not happy with how we respond to your feedback you can use our complaints process.
